DiVisual Mapping System will change they way condition reports are registered and produced in galleries, museums, conservation studios and so on. It takes common tasks of conservators and takes it a step further, streamlining processes giving art conservators a very versatile and reliable tool for their daily work right at hand.

The DiVisual „Mapping System“ will dramatically reduce the time needed to draw a map for condition reports on a computer.

Nested inside of Photoshop, MSv8 is a true Plug-In offering you everything needed to draw beautiful condition / treatment maps in it‘s own tool-palette. It‘s really a true „what you see is what you get“ and so simple, that you will master it in 5 minutes!

Drawing and registering

The core suit of tools are giving you the possibility to register the condition of the art work on layers separated by theme (damage types such as scratches, stains, losses, deformations, etc., etc.,). Damages are strictly kept on separate layers for easy interpretation and printing out if necessary.

Condition report history

After registering an art works condition it will be locked away as a history state. This is happening within the same map file, allowing you to have all history states at hand when ever you need them.

Conservation treatment / treatment history:

Registered damages can be marked as treated as a whole or in parts. This is happening in separate layers within the treatment history. All treatments are marked with an automatic and unique time stamp assuring, that the moment of treatment can always be tracked back.

Metadata on the art work is stored within the map file. In the metadata header of the file. Information, such as artist, work title, dimensions, material, inventory number, etc. is stored and will travel with the file where ever it will be stored or sent to. This way the map file can always be related to an art work in the collection and in a collection management system.

Database connectivity

The Mapping System MSv8 is able to connect with collection management systems such as Museum+ RIA and exchange information on the art work and its condition.

The Mapping System MSv8 offers a suite of modules for different art works.
At the moment, mapping modules for *paintings", "polychrome sculptures", "work on paper" and "textiles" are available. Modules for mapping of  metals, glass and ceramics  and others will follow one by one.
